Colleen Hains, Justice of the Peace, State of Connecticut
To All
Couples: Thanks for visiting my web site. I have been performing ceremonies in Connecticut for the past
24 years. Every
wedding that I perform holds a special place in my heart. I treasure the intimacy and love that is present
on that day because I relive my wedding day which was 24 years ago. As you look around for a justice of the peace
(and I hope that you stop right here and call me), but if you don't, look for someone who can project their voice,
add emotion to the written words, and commits a good percentage of the ceremony to memory (so that eye contact can be made
between the justice of the peace and the participants and family members).
Thanks
for considering me. Sincerely, Colleen
My
Responsibility as a Justice of the Peace
There
is not a day or event that can ever replicate the specialness that a couple feels on their wedding
day. It is a precious day and will always be treasured and relived by them. Therefore, I take this responsibility
of officiating to heart and understand that you have asked me to deliver a message to your guests as well as share in
a very intimate moment between the two of you.
Officiating Your Ceremony
I
take personal interest in the ceremony that you would like to be performed. If you are interesting in
asking me to officiate, I can provide the following:
-a minimum of twenty ceremonies
from which to choose or get ideas from (I
have very simple ceremonies, some very romantic ones, some practical ones, and ones for people that are falling in love the
second time around and want to renew their vows)
-assistance
with writing the wedding ceremony (I would be happy to put something together for you from the samples that I have)
-assistance
with the rehearsal ceremony so that all members of the wedding party know their roles (I am available for rehearsals)
-a well spoken,
intimate wedding ceremony that your guests will be able to hear, whether it takes place outdoors or a
crowd of 100 indoors (I have officiated at windy ceremonies on Long Island Sound, gathered with families in backyards, presided over friends and families at banquet
halls, and been invited into living rooms to perform the most intimate of ceremonies at the last minute)
Contacting
Me:
You can reach me at my home number listed above in the evenings or on the weekends.
I return messages on the same day that you
leave it. Therefore, if it is urgent, I recommend leaving the message at the number listed above. If
you have a cell and home number, please feel free to leave both of them for me so that I can reach you that day.
I can also be reached by
contacting me on this web site or my hotmail account e-mail address listed above.
I am available
to officiate ceremonies on short notice, however, we would
have to go with a standard ceremony.
I do ask for a minimum of two weeks notice
if you would like samples of ceremonies and assistance with the writing
of the wedding ceremony.
I will travel within two hours of Norwalk
to perform a ceremony. I can recommend other Justices of the Peace if the travel time is in excess of the two hours.
I will officiate
ceremonies any day of the week, however, I cannot officiate a ceremony during the weekdays from the hours of 8 am until 5
pm. I am available during the weekdays after 5 pm, as well as anytime during the weekend. I will also perform
ceremonies on holidays.
Thank you for visiting my web site and the best of luck to you as you embark upon this
new chapter in your life.

RENEWING
VOWS
Been married for a number of years or almost a century like myself, ask about the renewing
of vows?
Many couples renew their vows, finding that the renewal reinstates the commitment
and provides reassurance for the years to come.
You may want to share this renewal with your children and family, or you may want
to have a private ceremony.
If you
cannot put your hands on your original vows, I can assist with the writing of the ceremony, as well as perform the ceremony.
Let me
know if I can be of service.
